COB LED Use Precautions

Unlike traditional SMD packaging, COB LED packaging is to directly package a single or multiple chips on an aluminum/copper substrate, which can enhance the heat dissipation performance of the LED. Since COB packaging has the advantages of low thermal resistance, low assembly cost, and good optical uniformity, it has been widely used.

This product is sensitive to static electricity, and effective protective measures must be taken when using this product. In particular, the high voltage current generated by static electricity may exceed the maximum rating of the product, which may damage the product or completely destroy the product. Customers should take safety measures to prevent static electricity and surges when using the product. Grounding resistance ≤ 10 ohms. Using anti-static wrist straps, anti-static mats, anti-static work clothes, work shoes, gloves, and anti-static containers are all effective measures to prevent static electricity and surges. The soldering iron tip should be properly grounded.

Soldering: Manual soldering with a soldering iron: It is recommended to use a soldering iron below 20W, and the soldering iron temperature must be kept below 300℃, and the soldering time should not exceed 3 seconds.

Cleaning: After soldering, it must be cleaned according to the following conditions. Cleaning agent: isopropyl alcohol or industrial alcohol (above 95°C) Temperature: up to 50°C for 30 seconds, up to 30°C for 3 minutes Ultrasonic cleaning: up to 300W.

Avoid mechanical stress on the LED, and do not touch the optical surface with your fingers or sharp objects to avoid damaging the LED surface and affecting its optical performance. Before testing or lighting the light source, the protective film must be removed before testing or lighting. When removing the protective film, avoid collision between your hands or other objects and the colloid, and use anti-static tweezers to remove it.
