LED lamps and COB lamps have their own advantages and disadvantages in terms of quality, which are specifically manifested in the following aspects:
Structure and light effect
LED lamp: It is composed of multiple independent LED chips, usually arranged on a circuit board, and connected by leads to form an integral light-emitting unit. This structure allows LED lamps to flexibly adjust the number and arrangement of LED chips to achieve different brightness and light efficiency requirements. COB lamp: Multiple LED chips are directly encapsulated on a substrate to form an integral light-emitting surface. This structure not only improves the light efficiency, but also reduces thermal resistance and improves heat dissipation performance.
Light efficiency and brightness
LED lamp: The light efficiency is usually between 60-120 lumens/watt, depending on the quality and manufacturing process of the LED chip.
COB lamp: Due to high-density packaging technology, its light efficiency can reach 120-200 lumens/watt, or even higher, which is suitable for high-brightness application scenarios.
Heat dissipation performance
LED lamp: Heat dissipation is relatively easy, but in high-brightness applications, the heat dissipation problem is still prominent.
COB lamp: Since a large number of LED chips are concentrated in a small area, the heat per unit area is higher, so a more efficient heat dissipation mechanism is required. Modern COB lamps usually use advanced thermal conductive materials and heat dissipation design.
Light uniformity LED lamp: Due to the scattered arrangement of chips, uneven brightness may occur, especially when multiple lamps are used in combination.
COB lamp: With high-density chip packaging, the light-emitting surface is more uniform, and it is not easy to have shadows or uneven light spots.
Durability and environmental protection LED lamp: Known for its ultra-long service life, generally up to 50,000 hours or more, and some can even reach 100,000 hours. The power consumed by LED lamps when working is much lower than that of traditional light sources such as incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps.
COB lamp: The service life can also reach more than tens of thousands of hours, and no harmful substances such as mercury are used in the production process. There is no ultraviolet radiation and infrared radiation during use, which is more environmentally friendly.
Application scenario LED lamp: Suitable for home living rooms, bedrooms, offices and other occasions that require soft light.
