Before the registration of the health and disinfection certificate, ultraviolet disinfection products need to be evaluated by a testing agency with relevant qualifications. At present, the testing methods and measurement methods are not unified, which is not conducive to the scientific evaluation of the sterilization and disinfection effect. The solution to these problems requires further capacity building of metrology agencies and testing equipment companies, including the application of AlGaN ultraviolet photodetectors based on wide bandgap semiconductor materials that only respond to the UVC band. Furthermore, the number of units that optimize sterilization and disinfection detection capabilities and establish UV LED device/light source testing capabilities is still small. At the same time, the sterilization and disinfection effect evaluation agency still lacks understanding of UVC LED, and the industry urgently needs testing agencies with both UVC LED and microbial testing capabilities. It is recommended that relevant national departments set up authoritative disinfection product testing agencies to form an industrial foundation platform in the field of disinfection to better assist the standardized development of the industry.
4. Strengthen intellectual property protection
While strengthening core technologies, UV LED-related enterprises should pay attention to the layout of related application patents. Strive for intellectual property funding policies, and suggest that industry associations jointly establish public technology research and development platforms with enterprises, universities and research institutes, build UV LED patent databases, and provide public services such as query, retrieval, statistics, analysis and early warning. UV LED companies should study the key integrated technologies such as light distribution, mechanics, electrical, and heat dissipation of UV LED modules and light sources under different scenarios, and form safe and reliable intelligent solutions; relevant departments of local governments can rely on the background of normalized epidemic prevention and control to carry out key demonstration applications, and through "government-enterprise-university-research" cooperation, cultivate the UVC LED application market, promote the improvement of technical level in application, standardize standards and product use effects, optimize solutions, etc., so as to drive market demand and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements through application demonstration.
