       Backlight is the light source behind the liquid crystal display (LCD), usually located on the back of the display. It usually consists of light-emitting devices such as LEDs or cold cathode tubes (CCFL), which are responsible for providing light sources so that the LCD can display images normally.

The function of the backlight is to provide uniform, bright light to illuminate the LCD panel. The LCD panel itself does not emit light, but modulates light by controlling the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules to display images or text.

The performance and effect of the backlight will directly affect the visual effect of the liquid crystal display module (LCM). If the backlight emits uneven light or insufficient brightness, it will cause dark or bright areas in the image on the LCD panel, affecting the display effect.Therefore, when selecting and using a backlight, it is necessary to select the appropriate backlight type and parameters according to the requirements and scenarios of the LCD module to ensure the optimization of the display effect.

       How COB backlight works

       The light emitting principle of the backlight is that the light emitted by LED or other light-emitting devices is modulated and reflected by optical components such as light guide plates and reflective films, and finally forms uniform and bright light to illuminate the LCD panel.

Specifically, backlights usually consist of light-emitting devices such as LEDs or cold cathode tubes. After the light emitted by these light-emitting devices passes through the light guide plate, it will be modulated and reflected by the optical structure in the light guide plate to form parallel and uniform light. These lights are then reflected and modulated by optical elements such as reflective films, and finally form light with the required brightness and uniformity to illuminate the LCD panel.

Different backlight structures and designs will affect its luminous effect and efficiency, so it is necessary to select the appropriate backlight type and parameters according to the requirements and scenarios of the LCD module.

In short, the working principle of the fill light mainly involves the lighting of the bulb, reflector function, filter adjustment, power supply and controller. These components work together to enable the fill light to supplement and improve insufficient light, providing better light effects for artistic creations such as photography and video.
